HOLMEN ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Accomplishments Since the Adoption of Existing Plans

Plans help guide a community’s future development and land use decisions. Periodically, it is important to measure the success of existing plans by ensuring that the community is developing in accordance with those plans. The Village of Holmen’s Comprehensive Master Plan 1997 helped guide many decisions in the Village and assisted the community in accomplishing many exciting projects. A few of those accomplishments include:

• A new land use map
• A new business park
• An addition to the Village Hall
• Construction of a new Public Works shop
• Construction of the aquatic center
• A ban on bluffland and wetland development
• New sidewalks in all new subdivisions
• Directional signage within the Village
• Acquired Star Hill
• Maintained the downtown as the center of the community
• Cooperated with surrounding communities and formed partnerships with Onalaska
• Updated the Village’s Sign Ordinance
