The Wausau Area Metropolitan Planning Organization hired Schreiber/Anderson Associates, Inc. (SAA) for technical assistance in the preparation of a 20-year comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian plan for the Wausau metropolitan area.  The metropolitan area includes the cities of Wausau, Schofield, and Mosinee; the villages of Weston, Rothschild, and Kronenwetter; and the towns of Texas, Maine, Stettin, Wausau, Rib Mountain, Weston, Mosinee, and Bergen.  The purpose of the plan is to develop a sound strategy for improving bicycle and pedestrian transportation throughout the Wausau area.

SAA collaborated with the Wausau Area MPO and its subcommittees, members of the public, and public officials to analyze current conditions, create a future vision, and develop implementation-oriented recommendations.  The Plan started in July 2007 and was completed by June 2008.  Click on Reports and Maps above for progress reports, meeting minutes, and project deliverables.

SAA thanks the the Wausau Area MPO and all others who helped to advance the availability and safety of bicycle and pedestrian facilities throughout the metropolitan area.
